Tobacco Prevention Headway

Since the last NashvilleHealth meeting in February, NashvilleHealth andVanderbilt University School of Medicine’s Department of Health Policyconvened a small group of national experts in tobacco prevention (we were there!!) to share their recommendations for best practices in tobacco control.
The discussion focused on strategies in the areas of mass media, healthcare, community engagement and policy. The meeting generated many exciting strategies that we could potentially implement in Nashville. The discussion also further verified several activities that are already underway here.  In the most recent meeting on April 14, the members of NashvilleHealth engaged in further discussion about specific strategies and reactions related to the recommendations for best practices that were developed by the expert panel.
